What Women Have To Decide

Career or family? This is the decision young women have to decide upon in this day and age. Can we have both? Of course that is possible. Yet in our modern times more and more women are delaying to start a family. Maybe it is their career or maybe finding a suitable mate to procreate with is a hassle. Let’s look at both stated factors and I will state what I think about them. There is nothing about being a career woman but one thing I can say is if you really truly want a family then you have to make up your mind and do it. As for finding a mate, it is hard. You just don’t want to start a family with anyone just out of the desperation to have a baby. I believe if you work on yourself the best way you can the right person will come around. This is a rather simple commentary to a more complicated situation/idea. Just know as our female youth grow into adults this is a decision that will be made. I just want to start a conversation with this topic. That is all.

Are We Ready To Take in Knowledge?

We live in the age of information. Google and YouTube are a way to gain knowledge and information. Despite this people still do not want to research any topic that they have questions about. The general public is not willing to question the status quo. A majority of the public is afraid to question the media, the church, and the government. We have all of this information in our fingertips but a lot of us just don’t want to investigate what is going around our world. We ridicule the ones who question and investigate whatever idea is thrown to them. I refuse to just take in and not question my environment. We need to wake up from our ignorance. Take the initiative to question and research. Your eyes will be opened.

MTV Got It Wrong

MTV got it wrong.MTV released a list recently with the hottest rappers in the game. The list was very ridiculous. Most of the rappers on that last mumble and don’t rap. Kanye West is number one and I don’t even know why. He is an overall great artist but I know some people who overall lyrically are better. Sorry Ye. Young Thug beat out Kendrick Lamar. To be honest I don’t care for the artist formally known as K.Dot. 21 Savage rounds off the list. This list is not all that but I believe there is some life to hip-hop in the coming future. There are some great artists on the come up and the veterans are in the lab cooking up some new music. Who do you think deserved to be on the list? Comment below:

Looking Beautiful

Women look beautiful for themselves. This is a general statement. As a woman who made this statement and being a woman myself; I agree. Women may agree with my statement but some people may disagree. The reason why some people may contend to what I just said is that they may think women spend tons of money to look good for the opposite sex. Those lace fronts, closures, MAC lipstick, and the like are considered not for the consumer of these products. Granted we live in partriachial society in which the thought process of a man is more in favor. Can’t a woman look good because she wants to? I don’t think a man unless he is a makeup artist cares about the color of the lip stain we bought at Sephora. It is part of being a woman something men just won’t understand.

Mental Health

Mental health is a very taboo topic in the black community. For many people in this community therapy is not needed. For the religious in this sub-culture going to a place of worship is enough. I have even heard that people who are going through depression are demon possessed. Crazy right. This is how certain members of the black community value mental health. Do we as a community check on our men to see if they are ok? Do we know how to deal with people who have experienced trauma? This should be an  ongoing discussion. People are not just crazy. They need healing and support. Next time you see someone going through some mental health issues listen to him or her. We as a community need to take mental health more seriously.
