This generation has brewed a new kind of social activist. This activist is an “Internet activist”. They post hash tags and post heartfelt messages then become ghost. All keyboard not action. Buying black was the hot topic in the summer now I hardly see it on my timeline. There are many other examples but this one just is the most recent. We have to do better. Not everyone is an Internet activist; there are people who are mobilizing as we speak. I am addressing the Internet activists. Let’s rally to make change outside our PCs and Macs. Yes is this my opinion!

Ratchet. This word has been a popular for the last recent years. The question I pose to all you readers of this blog: Is it okay to be ratchet? I don’t know, to be honest. Can you be intelligent and be ratchet? Can you be sexy and ratchet? What does ratchet mean anyway? I have so many questions about this word. For the sake of reading time I will move on. One thing to consider why do we make these words so popular in our community? I need answers to the questions I posed. Will ratchet still be a word prevalent in our modern vocabulary? Something to consider. Yes this is my opinion.
To anyone who follows me on Instagram, I recently posted “Consistency is key”. This phrase has resonated with me this past of couple of weeks. I am now working on being more consistent. One thing that I can say is that I have been consistent with my dreams. I have not given up in what I want to accomplish. The desire to succeed has been consistent with me. All the planning, hard work, talent cannot help you if you do not do it consistently. You cannot give up. It is about being on top of your business. Strive for the best. Quitters are not winners. It is easier said then done. Yet as you continue in whatever you want to do the consistency will push you. Keep at it. Consistency is key! Yes this is my opinion!

Slavery. Some people say get over it. Reparations. We need our 40 acres and a mule. Freedom. Are we really free? As young black woman living in these United States, slavery still effects and affects me. Has the black community in this country really healed from the atrocities of slavery? I’m here to say… NO! We need to address the effects of this horrible portion of history. We are divided. We are urged by mainstream society to get over it. Yet we are at the bottom of the barrel. The effects of slavery go down generations. This nation was built on the back of slaves and has flourished. Yet the descendants of these said slaves seem not to flourish. This is serious. We need to address the symptoms of the effects of the enslavement of African people. Do I have the answers? Not necessarily but I recognize a problem and we need to come together and figure it out. This is my opinion. Yes I Have An Opinion.
I want to succeed. Success is golden. Yet, do we have what it takes to succeed? Can we take the criticism from family and friends? Are we willing to put in the work? Are we dedicated? Are we focused and not distracted? Do we love to sleep too much? These are some questions to have in mind. Success is not for the faint of the heart. You have to put in the work. Let’s not forget to put God first in all that you do. It doesn’t hurt to be around people who will push to succeed. Also remember your why? and how? Why are you doing what you are doing and how will you achieve it. It is easier said then done but it can be done. What is stopping you to reaching your pinnacle of achievement?
