Everyone loves to laugh. Who doesn’t love comedy? Is there a fine line between being insensitive and just being plain funny? When is a joke too offensive? When a comedian tells a joke about a group of people online some people may get very offended. I just saw a joke online about dating Haitian women and one viewer got so offended. Do you think if the comedian were Haitian would she be ok with it? Did the jokes apply to her? I don’t know. To be honest I think she was overreacting and being sensitive. However in the past I have been offended by some jokes about my culture but I have learned to develop thick skin. It is not that serious it is just a joke or is it? I don’t believe comedians should be censored for their jokes. Comedy is entertainment. One thing I can say to that individual is to lighten up. If you know that you are not that type of Haitian woman don’t feel some type of way. There are more serious things to be offended about in our world today. Don’t you agree? Yes This Is My Opinion!

What is something I need to do more of besides eat veggies? Travel. Yes I have had to travel in the past but I need to do more travel. The world awaits. Some people think traveling costs a fortune. That is not the case with proper planning and saving. It is sad to say but a lot of people love to buy things but not experiences. People spend a lot of money on kicks, cell phones, excessive eating out, and expensive designer threads and wonder where their money went. If we would cut down on unnecessary spending and plan our finances in a prudent way then we could have the opportunity to travel. You can start of small. For those who live in the US, go to other states outside your hometown. Also invest in a passport. You will thank me later. There are many online resources to help you plan your travel. There are also communities that promote and participate in group travel. The information to travel is out there. Take it and seize it. Traveling is imperative and important. Yes This Is My Opinion!

Do we celebrate an entertainer’s legacy despite their personal life? There are countless examples. I turn to this subject because earlier this week a Facebook friend posted a meme of four R&B musicians and we had to choose one that had to be off the list and their music would never exist. I took one R&B star off the list because of his personal life. My nephew told me on my Facebook comments that I should base my selection of the artist’s music and not personal life. Yet can we really separate art from real life? From Michael Jackson, R.Kelly, Tupac, Bill Cosby, and countless others do you still respect an entertainer’s art yet not their personal life. Is it really ok to enjoy an alleged rapist, or pedophile artistry? Something to consider. Certain artists I have lost respect for them but their work is dope. This is defiantly a conflict of interest in my part. Yet I can say also I don’t know these people personally and my opinion of them is not stopping them or stopped them from achieving artistic genius. That is my opinion on all of this. I have been using Facebook for a hot minute. I have noticed the notion of being conscious online especially on Facebook. Someone added me on a conscious group. Am I conscious? Honestly first and foremost I would like to know what does this term mean exactly in the black community? What falls under the category of being conscious? I have read posts on the Facebook group I follow and it is rather interesting to say the least. For analyzing the posts you can say I am not conscious from the group’s standards. I go to church and I feel comfortable with that. There are other things that are emphasized in the Facebook group discussions that I agree with such as black empowerment and black pride. What I can say is that as a people we are not united. We separate ourselves between church going, atheist, conscious, spiritual, agnostic and the list goes on. We debate about our beliefs day in and day out yet our condition is still the same. All I am saying is that there is nothing wrong with being conscious but I believe there is nothing wrong with being a churchgoer. Debates go nowhere where is the action and unity. I try not to be political but this is rather annoying. What can we do about this ongoing situation? I don’t know but I am happy to share my opinion on this. Yes I Have An Opinion!

It has been a long and drained out career journey for me. Following your passions and dreams has been hard. Having family from a West Indian background that stress a certain career path over your creative endeavors has been quite annoying. Without going into full detail I am currently working and building. I know hard work pays off. It is definitely a journey and not a destination. I have built patience and among other things. The road to success has its twists and turns. I will make it along the way. To all of my readers never give up, quitters never win!

Yesterday was September 4, 2016. It was Beyoncé’s birthday and a lot of people on social media were wishing her Happy Birthday. I really believe that Beyoncé’s fans are rather unique. The Beyhive as they are called are die hard and devoted. With the Lemonade release several month ago and the sudden attack of designer Rachel Roy it shows the passion of the Beyhive. Yet what makes Beyoncé the musician people can’t help stop talking about. Is it her vocals? The actual music she puts out? Her beauty? I want answers. I have to admit I like some of her songs like anyone else but I am die hard and passionate… NO! To all my readers who are die-hard Beyoncé fans please comment below. Please tell me why are you part of the Beyhive. I love music and have some of my favorite artists but I will never Stan or even worship them, I know they are human just like me. Know your circle. We have heard this before but what does this all mean. In my opinion it means knowing who is really there for you. A friend does not need to call you text and call you on a daily basis to be there for you. Who supports you and encourages you? Who is not a low-key hater? You know someone who always has a smart thing to say to you as a joke. Beware of those people. Be weary of what advice someone gives you. Be mindful of bitter people also. Also if someone is always hanging out with someone whom you know does not like you and is your so-called friend watch out. Also go out with people to know who they are. I have learned talking on the phone is not the same of being with someone in a public place outside of church and school. You can really know what someone is capable of. Also if you are around someone who does not share similar goals and ideals as you why hang out with them. Also it is ok to be alone at times. Enjoy your own company. Know what you are about and you will attract the right people in the midst. It can be trial and error but in the end it will enhance your quality of life. Know your circle. Yes This Is My Opinion.
